Sophia started a gratitude journal August last year and the monthly checklist this July. I got her a new notebook because she filled all the pages out! When she is older, I will show her the things that she was grateful for when she was 7, and I hope it will help her see things in a different and broader perspective, remember that she used to be thankful for the opportunity to play and swim with friends. When the world becomes a little bit colder and tough for her, I hope she will find comfort in reminiscing about her happy childhood, and how the little things used to make her so happy, and maybe as an adult, she can find joy in them again.
Today, she is grateful for making banana bread, that I tried to learn piano (soon I will write about the gift of music) and her new journal.
